Superintendent's public budget forum March 25 at Central High
The Superintendent of the Knox County Schools will host a budget forum to gather public comment concerning development of the school system budget for fiscal year 2010-2011. 

The Knox County Schools certified employee transfer period for the 2010-11 school year is March 15 - 26. For eligibility requirements, transfer process timeline, and application procedures please see 2010-11 Transfer Period.

Run for the Schools April 10 at the Zoo
The Run for the Schools will be held at the Knoxville Zoo. Proceeds from this event will be distributed to the participating schools based on each schools level of participation. The event is open to all schools, both public and private, in Knox County. Cost: Pre-registration $10 for Knox County students and teachers; $15 for all others. Day of race fee is $12 and $20. Pre-registration deadline is March 29. (Register)

This year's Dine Out for Education day is April 20, 2010. Participating restaurants will donate 10% of that day's sales to Knox County Schools. Plan to take your family and friends to breakfast, lunch, and dinner that day and say a special 'thanks' to our participating restaurants.

Superintendent Jim McIntyre has rescheduled the Community Forum to hear and discuss community, employee, parent, and student comments and insights about the Knox County Schools. The forum, originally scheduled for March 9, has been rescheduled for Monday, April 26 at 6 p.m. at Karns High School (8108 Beaver Ridge Road).
