Parents and students can travel through the serving line in a game-like atmosphere to select items from the day's menu in Knox County Schools. As items are added to the tray, total nutritional value is calculated. Parents are invited to have refreshments and make valentines with their child.
The PTA is teaming with Second Harvest Food Bank for the Jason Jablonski Memorial Food Drive.  Please donate any non-perishable food (anything in a box or can basically (not frozen or refrigerated)).  We are going to have a competition  between the grades for bragging rights and a mention in the 2009/10 yearbook.  Large barrels will be placed in the grade hallway for an easy drop off point for the children.  Please help us give back and help people in our own community by donating non-perishable food next week.
The library will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through the beginning of March.  Children are invited to come in for reading books, taking Accelerated Reading quizzes and tutoring assistance.  An adult must accompany children.

All Advisor/Advisee classes will participate in the Black History Skit Showdown. The top two groups from each grade level will present their skits on February 26, 2010 at our Black History Month Performance Night. Please have your AA classes prepared to "Showdown."
4-H will meet with each 5th grade classroom on a monthly basis concentrating on writing/language arts and science curriculum.

In recognition of Dental Health Month, students will learn about dental hygene from a local dentist.
The Vine Dance Company will perform at Green Magnet School for their Black History Month Program.
The GES BLTC will present a MAC overview for staff members wishing to find short cuts and more user friendly ways to use a MAC computer.  This will b e for 1.5 hours of unscheduled inservice credit.  Sign up on ERO.
Vine Magnet Performing Arts and Sciences Middle School will host an Open House for parents interested in a transfer for their child to VMMS.

Fulton Students are released at 2:00.  Buses will pick up students at that time.
Every 4 1/2 weeks Norwood recognizes students who show good character.

Students will gather at Knox County Adult High School at 12:30 and walk to the Knoxville Arts and Fine Crafts Center on Broadway across from Broadway Carpets.  At KAFCC they'll tie-dye a tee shirt and then they'll walk back to HKH.  A tee shirt will be provided free to each student.  There is no charge for the class. Students will bring home their tee shirt the day they make it.

Students and parents are invited to attend "Edible Education" which will be in the school gym from 3:30-6 pm. 
Parent need to drop by pick up their child's mid-term and meet teachers.
Our annual chili supper and book fair will be Thursday, February 11th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.  We hope you can attend.    Watch for more information to come home soon.
Meeting will be held in the Whittle Springs Auditorium.
